White Blood cells are made by Bone Marrow and are stored in blood and lymphatic tissues. They make 1% of blood. They are constantly being made since their lifespan is one to three days.

They are generated as part of self-defense mechanism to prevent or cure infections or diseases. Higher white blood cells generally means infection but could be due to inflammation, labor, etc. They are also called Leukocytes.

Five types – Monocytes, Lymphocytes, Neutrophils, Basophils & Eosinophils.

Red Blood cells are made by Bone Marrow and are stored in blood. They make majority of the blood. Their lifespan is about 120 days.

They carry Hemoglobin, which carries oxygen molecule, and also transports carbon dioxide from body to the lungs for exhalation.

Eating Foods rich in Iron and Vitamins will lead to creation of more Red Blood cells – Vitamin E from dark green vegetables, fruits (mango), red bell pepper, seeds, asparagus, avocados, nuts, etc. & Vitamin B2/B3/B12 from bananas, whole grains, and milk products & Vitamin B9 (folate) from dark green vegetables, beans, mushrooms, bananas, etc.

There are 23 pairs of Chromosomes out of which 22 are similar in both male & female and the 23rd one is the sex chromosome.

A chromosome is a deoxyribonucleic acid molecule (DNA) coiled with proteins found in the nucleus of a cell.

Each chromosome is made up of single DNA molecule tightly coiled many times around proteins called Histones that support its structure.

Chromosomes are responsible to maintain uniformity & DNA replication during new cell productions.

There are two types of Glands in a human body – Exocrine (ducted) Glands & Endocrine (ductless) Glands.

Exocrine – These glands secrete into a region of the body through a duct.

Endocrine – These glands secrete directly into bloodstream without duct. The secreted chemicals and/or hormones regulate the functionality of the cells or organs. Unhealthy Endocrine system would lead to many issues related to puberty, pregnancy & managing stress.
